Did you know 80% of first-aid is the prevention of it?

As we kick off the first few weeks of summer, many of us are itching to spend as much time as possible in the saddle. However, we want to be sure you are and your animals are staying safe, too! These human and horseback riding safety tips will help keep you safe in the saddle and at the barn.

Before hitting the trails, make sure you are prepared and ready to take on any challenge that may arise! As Adelle of Prime Equine shared on our webinar, 80% of first-aid is the prevention of ever needing first-aid. Regardless if you are just going on a leisurely 1-hour stroll in your backyard, Adelle encourages you to bring several items and prepare to be gone for the day. These can include water, snacks, a multitool, and an extra bridle, just to name a few.

As many in the industry has learned, inconveniences happen when you’re relying on animals and equipment. For example, a bridle breaks, or your horse throws a shoe. When emergencies happen, you’ll be glad you took precautionary measures and prepared! Below you will find a list of things you might need while participating in horse-related activities.
